2010 Legislative Survey
Thank you for completing Rep. Murphey's 2010 Legislative Survey.
Rep. Murphey appreciated the hundreds of responses that were received in response to the 2008 and 2009 surveys and looks forward to seeing this year's responses.
As you are probably aware, the legislature is considering several legislative initiatives related to the recent expansions of the federal government. Two of these issues (House Joint Resolution 1054 and Senate Bill 1685) are included in this survey. House Joint Resolution 1054 would allow you to vote on placing a new amendment in the Oklahoma Constitution stating that no person should be required by law to purchase health care insurance.
The time for the legislature to start voting on budget issues for the 2011 fiscal year is also quickly approaching. Included in this survey are questions related to how you would envision the state government reacting to the recent shortfalls.
As the Chairman of the Government Modernization Committee, Representative Murphey has been advocating for downsizing government and using technology to make government more transparent. House Bill 2310 and Senate Bill 1759 are targeted at accomplishing this goal. Both of these bills are included in this survey.
Finally, each week Representative Murphey sends out an e-mail update to inform constituents about what is occurring in state government. This e-mail frequently elicits a number of responses from constituents and allows for a number of e-mail conservations about issues that are important to them. These e-mail updates are also used as a way of providing information about local infrastructure improvements such as transportation and rehabilitating the local road infrastructure.
You may receive this update by attaching your email address to this survey.
Please complete the following only if you live in HouseDistrict 31. House District 31 covers all of Logan County except for Langston and Coyle and north Edmond from Kelley to Post from Waterloo as far south as Coffee Creek.
